Septicemia

Q1. What is the cause of the disease?
Septicemia is a systemic infection, usually caused by bacteria of various types contaminating a person’s blood.

Q2. How is the component of blood/ blood vessel affected in the disease?
The blood vessel will be affected by having low blood pressure.
Q3/4. What is the function of the blood component/ structure in circulatory system? How does this blood component/ structure differ from the rest in the circulatory system?
Red blood cell - To bring oxygen frm the lungs to other parts of the body
White blodd cell- To fight unfamiliar cells floating in the blood stream
Platelets- to clot

Q5. How will the absence of the blood component / structure affect the health of the patient?
The patient will have some problems in his or her blood. the components in the blood are red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, plasma.

When there is no red blood cells, oxygen will be unable to be transported around the human body. the body then will be unable to carry out most life processes.

When there is no white blood cells, the body cannot protect against viruses which infect the body and become vulnerable to many diseases.

Without platelets, the blood cannot clot when there is a wound and the blood continues to flow out of the injury. this way, the patient will lose a lot of blood easily and they will have a lack of blood in their body so they might die if their cells do not multiply fast enough.

Without plasma, osmosis cannot occur and the concentration of protein will be very high so it prevents water from moving from the blood into the intestinal tract.

Q6. How technology is used to facilitate the analysis of one’s state of health and improve one’s lifestyle?
A plug-based microfluidic technology that enables fast detection and drug susceptibility screening of bacteria in blood, without pre-incubation.this method confines individual bacteria into droplets nanolitres in volume. When single cells are confined into plugs of small volume such that the loading is less than one bacterium per plug, the detection time is proportional to plug volume. Confinement increases cell density and allows released molecules to accumulate around the cell, eliminating the pre-incubation step and reducing the time required to detect the bacteria.

Q7. How technology is used to save lives with respect to the disease investigated?
Here are some treatments-
Hospitalization
Antibiotics - often in large doses
Intravenous antibiotics
Broad-spectrum antibiotics
Specific antibiotics - one the causative agent has been identified.
Intensive care
Life support measures
Treatment of any underlying condition
Supportive therapy
Antibiotics
Fluids
Here are some treatments that are listed as possibly helpful-
Anthracinum homeopathic remedy
Pyrogenium homeopathic remedy
Arsenicum homeopathic remedy
Carbo vegetabilis homeopathic remedy
Crotalus horridus homeopathic remedy
Belladonna homeopathic remedy
And much more.
